Stocks

Shares are securities issued by joint-stock companies. If you invest in the shares of a certain company, you become a co-owner of it. Even if you have invested very little, you get your share of the company.
By purchasing a block of shares, you get the following rights:

  • receive part of the company's profits (dividends)
  • receive part of the property if the company is liquidated
  • to participate in the life of the company by voting at meetings of shareholders.

Shares are common and preferred.
